PTS Branches Reach New Fundraising Heights
27 July 2009
Seven brave employees from the Aldridge and Tamworth branches of leading merchant PTS have conquered Mount Snowdon to raise £4,100 in aid of the NSPCC.
The team passed the finish line at 5pm on Sunday 19th July after completing a 14 mile journey. With months of training behind them, the employees battled intense weather conditions on their nine hour trek across Crib Goch to reach the mountain summit.
Mark Wallis, PTS Aldridge Branch Manager, said: "Tackling the slopes of Snowdon and in particular Crib Goch proved to be extremely challenging. No one in the team had ever completed anything like this before and we really had to pull together to get through the day. There were times when we felt a bit vulnerable as we had to pass along narrow ridges in some pretty gruelling weather.
"Through our team spirit and the generosity of our sponsors, we have generated a fantastic amount of money. I am immensely proud of my team and everything that we have achieved for the NSPCC."
