Local Merchant Races Ahead

Competitive staff and customers from Plumbing Trade Supplies (PTS) on Hamilton Road gathered together last month to raise £588 for Age Concern and prove that they were the town's thoroughbred fundraisers.
The local branch of the national plumbing merchant treated 30 customers to the ‘race evening' held at the Mansfield House Hotel. With each attendee betting on various horse races throughout the night and all profits going towards the worthy cause, the fundraising didn't slow its pace until late into the night.
Craig Thorburn, Branch Manager of PTS Hawick, said: "The evening was a great chance for us all to get together and have some fun whilst generating some important funds for Age concern. After raising nearly £600, I'm sure that there will be more events planned soon, with even more plumbers and installers in the Borders getting involved."
