Staff from PTS branches in Tamworth and Aldridge raised an impressive £2,500 on Sunday 6th July after hiking 24 miles for the Company’s partner charity, the NSPCC.

Seven members of staff from the leading supplier of plumbing, heating and sanitaryware battled through heavy rain storms and coped with numerous blisters, all in aid of the charity which works to put a stop to child abuse. The impressive sum of £2,500 was raised following generous donations from colleagues, family members, friends, suppliers and customers. Local residents also gave money on the day, buying both charity badges and balloons from the team as they headed towards the finishing line at PTS Aldridge.

Mark Wallis, Branch Manager of PTS Aldridge who also oversees Tamworth, said: “The heavens opened early on to make the day a much bigger challenge than expected, so we welcomed the support of passers-by who donated money to our cause.

“The NSPCC is an inspirational organisation which continues to raise awareness of a very sensitive and important issue which affects millions of children throughout the UK. I am thoroughly delighted with the team and pleased that the money is going to a very worthy cause.”

PTS named the NSPCC as its partner charity at the start of 2008. By continuing its money raising campaign, PTS aims to help vulnerable children and young people at risk of cruelty in the UK.
