PTS Tees Off For Charity
07 October 2008
Staff from Plumbing Trade Supplies (PTS) on Prospect Way blew out the candles and cracked open the champagne on 29th September in celebration of the branch’s fifth birthday. Staff members were joined by the branch’s longest standing customers, including Rugby Borough Councillor Craig Humphrey.
148 players gathered from all over Devon and Cornwall to compete for individual and team trophies and of course generate money for the NSPCC which works to put a stop to child abuse.
Alan Ball, PTS Managing Director, said: "Golf is one of my favourite hobbies, so to be able to challenge some of my colleagues, our customers and suppliers seemed like the best fundraising idea yet this year! The charity raffle was a massive success - with all players from the day pitching in to raise over £1,500. It is testament to PTS that we can all come together, have a very enjoyable day and raise some money for a very worthy cause."
PTS named the NSPCC as its partner charity at the start of 2008. By continuing its money raising campaign, PTS aims to help vulnerable children and young people at risk of cruelty in the UK.
