PTS Supports Customer’s South African Mission

PTS’ Southern Region has pledged its continued support of social housing repair and maintenance specialist Mears Group PLC following its successful charity mission to the Sithabile Child Care Centre in South Africa.

PTS’ Southern Region has pledged its continued support of social housing repair and maintenance specialist Mears Group PLC following its successful charity mission to the Sithabile Child Care Centre in South Africa.
 
PTS branches in the Southern Region have supported the Mears Group’s charity initiatives for three years and supplied 90 branded work shirts to this project.  

The Sithabile Child Care centre houses over 75 orphans aged from eight months up to 21 years, creating a safe haven for children who have survived abuse, exploitation and neglect.  During the ten day operation, the 15 volunteers from Mears Group redecorated the childrens dorms, fitted two new kitchens and completely renewed the toilet and shower blocks.

Marc Miller, PTS Southern Region Senior Sector Manager, said: “The Mears Group has worked hard to make a real difference to the Sithabile Child Care Centre and the children that are under its care. They wanted the volunteers to look and feel like a real team of charity workers and we were proud to be able to provide a uniform that allowed them to do that. The work that the team has completed so far is incredible and we look forward to offering our continued support in the future.”

Ian Watson, Procurement Director for the Mears Group continued: “We’re really grateful for the kit  that PTS donated to our latest mission. They were the icing on the cake and contributed to how professional the team felt when they were working on site.”
