On Sunday 18th July, after seven and a half hours of pedal pushing through the Derbyshire Peak District, four employees from PTS Aldridge on Brickyard road completed a 70 mile bike ride to raise a whopping £2,500 for the NSPCC.

The challenge saw the team ride the Derbyshire Tissington Trail from Ashbourne to Buxton before crossing the High Peak Trail. Briefly stopping near Matlock on the A6, the PTS clan then headed all the way back to the finishing line in Ashbourne.

Originally, PTS Branch Manager Mark Wallis was due to lead his team on the challenge. However, an accident in training meant that he was unfortunately not able to take part on the day due to a shattered collar bone. Mark said: "It was a real shame that my accident prevented me from joining the team but they did a great job and their hard work and efforts really paid off. I'd like to thank everyone that supported us and helped raise such a great amount again this year. We're looking forward to some more fundraising in the future."

This is the third year running that PTS Aldridge has taken part in challenges for NSPCC which helps stop cruelty to children in the UK, raising a grand total of £9,500. In 2008, he team walked 25 miles and in 2009 climbed Mount Snowdon via Crib Goch.

Next year Mark and the rest of the team will be taking part in another charity challenge for Cystic Fibrosis Trust, which is PTS' current partnered charity.

PTS Aldridge is located at Unit 104 Brickyard Road, Aldridge, Walsall, West Midlands WS9 8SX.
