Sunday 18th July will see PTS Aldridge employees join together for the third year running to raise an estimated £3,000 for NSPCC. This year the team will undertake an arduous 70 mile bike ride through the Derbyshire Peak District.

The ten hour bike ride will see the team travel up through the Tissington Trail from Ashbourne to Buxton before heading along the High Peak Trail to the finishing halfway mark near Matlock on the A6.The team will then have to do the whole journey in reverse to complete the required 70 miles at the finishing line back in Ashbourne.

Having already raised a staggering £7,000 for NSPCC by walking 25 miles in 2008 and climbing Mount Snowdon via Crib Goch in 2009, PTS Aldridge hopes this year's Derbyshire District challenge will take them to the £10,000 mark for NSPCC, which raises money to help stop cruelty to children in the UK.

PTS Branch Manager Mark Wallis, who will be completing the bike ride with four other PTS employees, said: "This will be the first time I've been on a bike for more than a mile in over 25 years, let alone 70 miles in one day! We've been training twice a week to get our stamina up, so fingers crossed we'll make the finish line in good time. We hope that we can count on PTS employees and our families to join us at the finish line to celebrate our £10,000 achievement all in the aid of the NSPCC."

Mark and the rest of the team are already planning ideas for next year's charity challenge which will be for PTS' new partnered charity, Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
