PTS hero treks through Africa for Alzheimer’s
22 December 2009
Martin Brown from PTS in Tonbridge completed a trek through Africa on 3rd - 7th October 2009 raising £3,300 the Alzheimer’s Society.
Martin, a delivery driver from PTS Tonbridge, completed the five day trek through the Southern Drakensberg Mountains in Kwa Zulu Natal in South Africa raising the staggering amount for the Alzheimer's Society - an organisation which works to improve the life of those suffering with dementia in the UK.
Martin said: "The trek was challenging at times, but it was an amazing experience dedicated to a worthy cause. My mother suffers from Alzheimer's and has received some outstanding support, so I wanted to give something back to show my gratitude."
Martin raised the money by setting up a mannequin of himself sporting an Alzheimer's Society t-shirt explaining why he was raising funds at the PTS Trade Counter. He added: "I am proud of what I have achieved and would like to say a big thank you to all the PTS staff and customers that have supported me."
