PTS, the leading supplier of plumbing, heating and sanitaryware, has marked the opening of its 300th trade counter by planting 300 trees within The National Forest in Derbyshire.

Alan Ball, PTS Managing Director, said: “We not only want to advocate the adoption of eco-friendly technology in the plumbing and heating industry but continue to actively do our part to cut carbon emissions. To achieve this and to celebrate the opening of our 300th PTS trade counter, we decided to plant 300 trees with The National Forest. It’s fantastic to mark this achievement in a sustainable way and to know that our contribution will continue to grow and improve the region which is home to our head office."

Sophie Churchill, Chief Executive of The National Forest Company, added: "We are delighted to be working with such an innovative Company who are clearly committed to improving their environmental standing. The planting of 300 trees is a fantastic way to celebrate the growth of their Company whilst contributing to The National Forest."

With 300 branches now open, PTS is even closer to reaching its target of being within 20 minutes drive time of any UK installer. The leading merchant continued to expand its ‘eco’ offering in 2008 by opening its first dedicated Renewable Energy branch in Aylesford. The branch is assisted by renewable energy, manned by experts and complete with its own training facility.
