Join the Sustainable Careers Conference

25 September 2008

CIPHE

The Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering is running a free one-day conference, organised by the Women in Plumbing and Heating Group. The event takes place at the Union Jack Club, Sandell Street, London SE1 8UJ on Thursday 13th November.

The theme of this year's conference is sustainability and is sponsored by Plumbing Trade Supplies (PTS). Consumers are becoming interested in all kinds of ‘green' technologies and they will be looking to installers to guide them in making the right choices. It's crucial that professionals in the plumbing and heating industry gain as much knowledge as possible about renewable / sustainable products that will help reduce energy bills and CO2 emmissions.

However, sustainability also applies to careers, so we have made sure that both topics will be covered by our speakers and workshop sessions. As usual the conference will be free to anyone in the plumbing and heating industry to attend, including trainees. Refreshments and a buffet lunch is included as well as a glass of wine at the end of the event.

Barbara Field will be chairing the conference and there will be speakers from Grundfos Pumps, Ideal Boilers, PTS and Worcester, Bosch Group. Claire Curtis-Thomas MP will be the guest speaker, along with Kate Churchill (working plumber). There will be three workshop sessions to choose from.
