Plumbers can pick up products and a new accreditation – all thanks to PTS Reading

Since moving from the Elgar Estate in May where it enjoyed 14 years of service to the local community, PTS (Plumbing Trade Supplies) has moved its Reading branch to Tessa Road due to demand from its ever growing customer base.

The new 20,000 square foot branch is the largest sales counter in Reading and features a training facility and conference room that will accommodate more than 50 people.

The new, bigger branch is supplying the installers of Reading with an extensive range of plumbing, heating and sanitaryware whilst offering new training and accreditation opportunities from October. The facility will offer installers the chance to further their careers by providing accreditations in subjects such as renewable energy technology and will feature a range of working models such as underfloor heating and solar PV panels. Courses in wider topics including first aid will also eventually be introduced. The meeting room can also be used by customers to talk to manufacturers or to train their own workforce.

Andy Grayston, PTS Branch Manager for Reading, said: "Renewable energy is continuing to grow in popularity, so it's important that we are able to offer our customers the latest in energy efficient technology as well as the practical installation skills. Our training facility will give customers the support and knowledge they need to help make the best of a growing trend. We are hoping to gain accreditation next year for our training facility to help customers acquire MCS approval."

Andy believes the new branch has opened up a wealth of opportunity for plumbers in the area. He added: "This bigger branch is in a better position to reach a wider section of customers and reduce their travel time. We have more space to stock a comprehensive range of products, meaning installers can be sure that we have the products they need."
Andy and the rest of the PTS Reading team will also be organising charity events throughout the year in aid of Cystic Fibrosis Trust, PTS' named charity of the year, whilst continuing its sponsorship of the Bracknell Bees Ice Hockey team.
