PTS Supports SNIPEF Petition to extend boiler scrappage
02 February 2010
PTS is throwing its weight behind the Scotland and Northern Ireland Plumbing and Employer’s Federation’s petition to widen the boiler scrappage scheme into Scotland.
The petition which will be presented to the Scottish Parliament calls on the Scottish Parliament to "introduce a financial incentive similar to that which applies in England to encourage the replacement of old, inefficient central heating boilers."
PTS has already welcomed the boiler scrappage in England and is supporting installers with help and advice through its branch network.
Kevin Dermindy, PTS Area Director for Scotland, commented: "The SNIPEF petition is an excellent initiative. An extension of the boiler scrappage north of the border will help eradicate fuel poverty and provide a welcome commercial boost to Scottish plumbing and heating installers. I would urge all Scottish installers to support this petition."
The petition can be accessed at www.snipef.org/boilerscrappage.htm
