PTS drives off with top award

Stewart Jack from PTS RDC in Newcastle has been named ‘Best Driver’ at the Travis Perkins Group 8th annual Driver of the Year Awards.

The judges at Travis Perkins were given the gruelling task of selecting drivers from across the entire group, which consists of over 15,000 employees. Each driver was judged on their technical driving skills, customer service and safety, with the top 16 drivers being invited to the award ceremony. As well as the award Stewart received £3,000 in holiday vouchers as a prize.

Stewart said of the award: "This is a fantastic achievement and one I am very proud of. It was great just to have been invited to the awards but to actually win is just incredible, it will take a while for it to sink in. I really enjoy being a driver, you meet different people every day which adds real variety to my working week."

The award was presented to Stewart by Group Supply Chain Director Robin Proctor and Group Head of Transport Graham Bellman.
