Biomass Boilers

As well as a wide range of conventional boilers, PTS also offers biomass boilers as part of our renewables range.

Biomass or burning boilers use wood as a fuel which is carbon neutral as the carbon dioxide produced during the combustion process is offset by the carbon dioxide absorbed during the growth of the tree.

Biomass boilers use logs, wood chip or wood pellets as fuel and are available in size from around 10kW upwards, with domestic and light commercial boilers up to 50kW. Considerations when installing a biomass boiler are availability to fuel nearby, storage of fuel, and access to fuel store.

Biomass boilers are most suitable in off mains gas areas, either rural or semi-rural areas, however are used in more urban areas where the fuel is readily available and can operate on high temperature heating Systems.

PTS provide both wood pellet, wood chip and log burning boilers along with the appropriate buffer vessels.

Wood pellets can be either manually fed or as an optional extra, automatically supplied into the hopper via a vacuum pump system (available on selected models only).
