High Efficiency Natural Gas
All new boiler installations should be fitted with either SEDBUK A or B rated appliances. These are generally known as High Efficiency (HE) or condensing boilers. PTS has included SEDBUK information on all boilers shown in our Price Guide. To see the very latest models please refer to our Price Guide. To download the Price Guide click HERE.
To ensure heating systems maintain their optimum performance, all installations should be flushed using a reputable cleansing agent. Adding inhibitors will extend the life of the heating system and lower fuel bills for your customers, PTS offers a full range of water treatments, ask in branch for the right one for your system.
If you are not connected to mains natural gas, and do not want the inconvenience of having to store either propane or oil, then an alternative proposition is a small electric boiler.
These units are best suited to smaller properties such as flats and provide the convenience and flexibility of a typical radiator heating system without the problem of having to route a flue to an outside wall.
With heat outputs for a single unit up to a maximum 12kw it is possible to place the wall mounted units in "banks" until the desired heat output is reached, dependent on the property's electrical supply.
Domestic hot water requirements can be satisfied independently via a storage cylinder which is heated directly from an electrical supply.
Propane or LPG Boilers
Although most households in the UK have mains gas central heating, around 3.6m households are not connected to the mains gas network.
In parts of the UK with no mains gas, some homes use liquid petroleum gas (LPG) instead. This is normally used in a ‘wet’ heating system where an LPG-fired boiler heats water, which provides central heating through radiators and hot water through the taps in your home.
The main difference between mains gas and LPG is that the latter is delivered by road and stored in a tank externally.
If you are not connected to mains natural gas, oil central heating is worth considering as an alternative to propane, bottled gas, or anthracite.
Here at PTS we also offer a full range of Combination, Heating Only and Light Commercial Boilers to suit your every need, as well as an extensive selection of Flues and Cylinders to complete the job.
